Sigge with his iPad

our kids are very advanced technologically ;) In fact it is probably just a matter of months before they know more about iPhones and iPads than us!

First Birthday Party

We had a fun party for the Minis in Johan and Lisa's beautiful new home.
Cousins Emma, Eva, Hanna and Jasper help Max and Sigge blow out the candles.

Jasper was very eager to give them their birthday presents, which he had helped Lisa pick out.

Sigge plays with his new xylophone!

Max eats cake for the first time in his life!

Happy 12 months ... I mean 1 YEAR!

I feel like the luckiest woman alive. One year ago I gave birth to two healthy tiny little boys. I remember how they laid in their little cart at the hospital and Tom and I just stared at them for hours. To us, they were just perfect little beings and we could not seem to wrap our heads around the fact that they were finally born.... and that there were two of them! Well, even today we often say "I can't believe there's two of them!". It's been an intense year for sure, but an amazing and rewarding one. Today we have two little one-year olds, two toddlers actually, and we have really gotten to know them. Max, our little dreamer. He takes a lot of time to chew his food, but with his mouth shut. He can stare into space for minutes and then return to reality with a smile. He digs his hand down my shirt whenever he can and loves to fall asleep on someones warm naked belly. His smile lights up a room and warms my heart. Sigge is our little hot tamale. He thinks I am really funny. When I sneeze or cough or act silly, he can laugh so hard that his face gets all red and he literally rolls on the floor. He is impatient and strong. We have a special kiss where put our lips up against eachother's and go "AAAaaaahhhhhhh", it's amazing. His giggle makes me laugh and warms my heart.

Happy birthday my sweet little boys, we love you so much!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Who is that?

Sigge really loved his Xmas present, a cell phone!

Hello? This is Sigge speaking.

Max playing with his new train!

As you can probably figure out based on the lack of postings we have been quite busy here in California. It's so great to hang out with farmor and farfar and meet all the cousins and uncles and aunts. But it's time for a little Mini fix. A special hug to everyone in Massachusettes who we miss so much! We had a wonderful Christmas celebration and David and Maggie's house yesterday, where Max and Sigge got to meet Santa for the first time.

While we were playing in the laundry room, sticking our heads in and out of the washing machine, we had this moment thatTom captured. Max is behind the open glas door of the mashing machine and i put my finger up to it.

Random shots

Ok, here is our little narcaleptic (Sigge), who has a hard time staying awake while I prepare the stroller.
Bath time (Max) in the kitchen with Pappa Tom. He fits perfectly in the sink. Aunt Anna is here and commented on how we will think back on this when they are 180 cm (6 feet) tall teenagers.

Auntie Anna

we have the honor of having Anna here for a visit which is SO nice! except for literally gagging when changing Sigge's diaper this morning, she is a real natural. she was also so sweet, bringing lots of loud toys wth digital tunes that i just can't get out of my head (find myself whistling them as i am doing dishes). anyway, once day there will be payback :)here is max and sigge's new spaceship toy with flashing lights, little wheels that makes it spin around all while playing one of three tunes (the can-can, a very spacey alien tune or (our favorite) one that sounds like the theme song of covered wagons heading out west to find gold)

PS the minis were terrified byt his toy yesterday but are warming up to it...

Story Time

Puck got a great book for the Minis, a book of animal sounds where you press a button on each page and that animal makes a noise. Max and Sigge are both intruiged and scared of the book. The elephant sound is the scariest. But the monkey sound is the funniest and Max usually jiggles a little for that one, his own little dance.
