Play time

I know I may be O.D.ing on Hipstmatic prints here but they are just so much more interesting than the regular iPhone camera! So bear with me.
It's easier to just lift the lid and put the blocks in the box, instead of going through the trouble of finding the hole that it fits perfectly into. Such a smartie this one ;)

Home Sick / Chubby Skinny Legs

I am trying to get you people who have not squeezed these chubby skinny legs to experience them here on the blog. They are best showcased when wearing shirts but without pants.

Having a cold means staying home and playing with mom and dad all day :)

Group hug!

Sitting still? That is SO 2010! - 13 months old

Took these photos of the Minis a couple of weeks ago, actually it was their 13 month photo. I was going to stop with the monthly chair photo but then I couldn't resist. Their adorable overalls are from Aunt Chris and Uncle Eric and since they were weraing them I had to do a little photo shoot! But sitting still now a days is not easy. We like to be up and about. A little different from this post, from the same chair, click here.

On their own

I am going to bring the room down for a minute, and get a little serious. I am sitting at the computer, drinking a strong coffee out of that "mamma" mug that you see me holding to the right after just having left Max and Sigge at day care for the first time. I have been there with them all last week and yesterday, but today it was time to say good-bye and let them test their wings. The minis fell asleep on the way to day care, which was good since they had woken up really early this morning. So as they took a little nap I started chatting with the wonderful women working there and the tears came after about 4 seconds. I must have looked kind of funny, sitting there with a fabric pen, marking their extra clothes and pulling out extra hats and pacifiers in all kinds of colors, some with little animals dangling from them, all the while crying and blowing my nose. And there they were comforting me, not Max and Sigge (who by the way seemed pretty ok when I waved good-bye and left).

I don't know if they cried or not, but Monika said I can always call to check in during the day. I am tempted to call them and remind them to give them water in case they are whiny, or that Sigge will probably try to stand in his high chair at lunch so they had better not turn their backs from him, or that Max is teething so maybe he will prefer cold food that feels good on his swollen gums. I am sure I will think of many more "oh by the way"'s before the day is done (at 2pm). So, anyway, big day for Max and Sigge, and a big day for their mamma who has spent the last 408 days taking care of them and loving them more than she every thought possible.

Big Day for Sigge

Big boy Sigge ate with a spoon by himself today. And here's the proof.
Just a little help from pappa, just in case not all of it makes it into his little tummy.

A proud Sigster as I haul him off to the bath tub!

Oh I almost forgot, the other news of the day is that he got a new tooth. To let me know he grabbed my finger, put it into his mouth and bit down, saying, "see, it's finally here!"

"Dagis" - (Daycare)

What a tumultuous week it has been. Starting daycare is really rocking our secure, well-planned well-oiled-a-machine-of-a-day. No morning nap but instead one longer nap in the middle of the day. No pacifiers during play time. New food, new schedule, you name it. And all those new people, big and small. But it's fun to discover all the new toys and making new friends.
Sigge parked in the doorway, legs crossed, "reading" a book.

Max with Monika.

As you can see, Max and Sigge are fitting in just fine, as the youngest ones there. AT least they have eachother :)
