I am going to bring the room down for a minute, and get a little serious. I am sitting at the computer, drinking a strong coffee out of that "mamma" mug that you see me holding to the right after just having left Max and Sigge at day care for the first time. I have been there with them all last week and yesterday, but today it was time to say good-bye and let them test their wings. The minis fell asleep on the way to day care, which was good since they had woken up really early this morning. So as they took a little nap I started chatting with the wonderful women working there and the tears came after about 4 seconds. I must have looked kind of funny, sitting there with a fabric pen, marking their extra clothes and pulling out extra hats and pacifiers in all kinds of colors, some with little animals dangling from them, all the while crying and blowing my nose. And there they were comforting me, not Max and Sigge (who by the way seemed pretty ok when I waved good-bye and left).
I don't know if they cried or not, but Monika said I can always call to check in during the day. I am tempted to call them and remind them to give them water in case they are whiny, or that Sigge will probably try to stand in his high chair at lunch so they had better not turn their backs from him, or that Max is teething so maybe he will prefer cold food that feels good on his swollen gums. I am sure I will think of many more "oh by the way"'s before the day is done (at 2pm). So, anyway, big day for Max and Sigge, and a big day for their mamma who has spent the last 408 days taking care of them and loving them more than she every thought possible.
